UNSW PCSoc is dedicated to hosting frequent and interesting workshops that cater for all members. Workshops range from simple tutorials for parts selections and PC building, all the way to preparing your setup for liquid nitrogen overclocking.
UNSW PCSoc is working in conjunction with other societies and organisations to provide members with opportunities to enjoy the best gaming experience on the PC platform.
UNSW PCSoc is in contact with major domestic and international organisations so that we can provide assistance to them when they wish to host events such as launch parties and showcases. It is in our interest to provide opportunities to our members to enjoy these events.
Still haven't gotten on the Overwatch (hype) train? Perhaps Blizzard's FREE WEEKEND of Overwatch will push you over with the anniversary update coming just in time for you to earn skins and levels! Starting 4am Saturday, you'll be able to dowload and play all of Overwatch (except for Competitive) until 5pm Tuesday. If you do decide to pull the trigger after the weekend is over, your skins and level progress will be retained (but achievements won't be). Join us this weekend for online Quick Play, Arcade, and Competitive stacks with a joint Blizzsoc x PCSoc online event.
We all know the feeling. You like keyboards. The mechanical kind. You like them a lot. There's a problem, your friends don't give a damn about the merits of each switch type, a 60% keyboard's superb space-efficiency, or even the Massdrop shipment that FINALLY arrived at your doorstep! They don't understand. But there's hope. We understand. We understand those nights spend cleaning caps and boards, scouring eBay for a Model M, salivating over JellyKeys' newest concoction of artisans, the longing scrolls through /r/MechanicalKeyboards, the wallet quaking silently as you browse soon-to-close group buys. We get it. Who are we? We're PCSoc, and we're holding a Keyboard meetup at uni!
Are you tired of shoehorning your awesome, encyclopedia-level video game knowledge into every conversation? Wish you could use this power for good? Sounds like you're in desperate need of a Trivia Night! Challenge yourself with questions across the board from the likes of BlizzSoc, SmashSoc, DotaSoc, LoLSoc, MinecraftSoc, CSSoc, GameDevSoc, PokeSoc, and PCSoc in the ULTIMATE UNSW Gaming Trivia Night!
Surprise surprise, you're one of over 25 million players globally who own a copy of Overwatch. Why not come and play it with some cool, like-minded people? A great opportunity to release some uni stress, meet future queue-buddies, show off your sharply-honed skills to win prizes, or hone your own skills with tips and tricks from our resident Master/ex-GM player: YourselfAU.
If you're a low-income uni student like the rest of us, this is the event for you because not only will you receive FREE PIZZA, but also an awesome discussion with the most frugal, oz-bargain-hunting, and knowledgeable members of our community on how to make the most of your money when taking the plunge into custom building!
Get ready for a MONSTER Clubs Mashup at our first event of the year! We're gathering the most popular computer games together for a full day of gaming goodness. We will be hosting tournaments with awesome prizes, with the finals streamed and commentated live over Twitch!
We are kicking off the year with a brief review of anticipated hardware from last year as well as new tech to look out for. This first week will also serve as an official welcome to PCSoc, a guide to our new and redesigned workshop events, and an invitation for any members of the society who would like to present a showcase.
